The academics are a very important part of a university. But there's another side to it, which is the experiential learning, which is the internships and the study abroad. The University of North Alabama provides both of those pieces to the students and really prepares them well.
I had an undergraduate research project on campus. We have a research class we have to take to the Communications department, and my group actually worked on examining the correlation between social media envy and depression, and we loved that project so much. We did a survey with students on campus, and we liked doing it a lot. So we ended up presenting it at the national conference for undergraduate research.
I was involved with Sociology and Criminal Justice being my major and my minor. I was able to carry that research from undergrad to graduate level, and I'm presenting at our conference.
Innovation and entrepreneurship are key focuses for the College of Business. It's one of the focuses that our dean really reiterates every time he can when he meets with some of the students. We have a full on major dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship with their own classroom set up in a style to facilitate brainstorming stuff. So it's a big focus for our college.

And all these people are coming together to be passionate about art and to be able to build off of each other and be a part of this community that is passionate about art and about UNA.
